In Warren County Circuit Court during the week that ended Friday, a Vicksburg man with burglary and manslaughter convictions was sentenced to eight more years in prison on a probation violation.

Quincy Williams, 31, 4920 Halls Ferry Road, will have to serve that sentence consecutively with a 10-year prison sentence he received in Franklin County in December on burglary convictions. Williams’ was on probation in a 2005 Warren County conviction of three counts of auto burglary. Also, he was convicted of manslaughter nine years ago and ordered to serve one year in prison.

In other actions:

Michael Ladale Bester, 32, 90-A Hicks Hill Lane, was accused of violating probation, which stemmed from a 2006 conviction of felony eluding a law enforcement officer. He was sentenced by Judge Frank Vollor to five years in prison.

Carl Vincent Cisero, 32, 2093 Johnson Road, Hermanville, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated driving under the influence and was ordered by Vollor to two years in prison followed by three years of probation. He was also ordered to pay $7312.50 in fines, court costs, assessments and restitution to the victims.

Cisero admitted to driving drunk and hitting two teenage boys, ages 14 and 15, who were shooting fireworks in the street New Year’s Eve of 2006. The accident occurred about 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Greenbriar Road. Cisero also reportedly hit one vehicle parked in the same block and ran into another parked vehicle down the street, where his vehicle came to a stop and he was later arrested. According to reports, Cisero’s blood-alcohol level was .24 percent, three times the legal limit.

David Ferrell Edens, 29, 1193 Standard Hill Road, convicted of child abuse 2003, was sentenced by Vollor to 10 years in prison on a probation violation. In July 2003, Edens was accused of grabbing, choking, hitting and threatening the life of a 2-year-old and repeatedly kicking the child’s mother, who was pregnant at the time.

Bobby Lester, 34, 15 Green Pasture Road, pleaded guilty to one count of vehicle burglary and another of attempted auto burglary and was sentenced by Vollor to one year in prison and $600 in restitution. His conviction stems from burglaries reported June 28, 2005, at the No. 5 Vicksburg Fire Station, 6865 U.S. 61 South. Lester also has a 2002 conviction of robbery and auto theft and a 1997 conviction of grand larceny.

Darrous Chansquint Liggins, 26, 1810 Jackson St., was ordered by Vollor to one year in prison for stealing four cheese Danish donuts from the County Market, 2101 Clay St. The Nov. 24, 2007, shoplifting was Liggins’ third offense. He also has a 2002 felony conviction for burglary of a dwelling.

In Sharkey County, 15 people were arraigned Wednesday on indictments returned last week by the April term of the grand jury. They are:

Jeanette Bowie, 41, 84 Poinsetta Drive, Vicksburg, aggravated assault.

Nicole S. Buchanan, 30, 250 Widow Bayou Road, Anguilla, aggravated driving under the influence.

Kendrick Conner, 29, 11 Hickory St., Cary, three indictments for sale of a controlled substance and one for possession of a weapon after a felony conviction.

Vingo Vancen Eichelburger, 29, 134 Ray Charles Road, Panther Burn, possession of a controlled substance.

Veronica Jean Emerson, 26, 2464 Perkins Road, Anguilla, one count of sale of a controlled substance and one count of child endangerment.

William Harris Sr., 51, 370 Widow Bayou Road, Anguilla, two indictments for sale of a controlled substance.

William Harris Jr., 28, 370 Widow Bayou Road, Anguilla, four indictments for sale of a controlled substance.

Reginald Johnson, 20, P.O Box 462, Anguilla, possession of a weapon after a felony conviction.

Misty Joiner, 35, 59 W. Cypress St., Cary, one count embezzlement and two counts uttering a forgery.

Charles H. Jones Jr., 44, 71 Dorsey Drive, Rolling Fork, sale of a controlled substance.

Bobby J. Powell, 38, 165 Hunt St., Rolling Fork, burglary of a dwelling.

Delcavious Martez Searcy, 26, Widow Bayou Road, Anguilla, three indictments for sale of a controlled substance.

Michael D. Sherman, 20, 150 S. Fifth St., Rolling Fork, nine counts of fraud by mail or other means of communications.

Everett M. Warfield, 31, 14 U.S. 61 South, Cary, two indictments for sale of a controlled substance.

Robert E. Williams, 52, 330 Widow Bayou Road, Anguilla, three indictments for sale of controlled substance.

Sharkey County grand juries are chosen each January, April and September. Law enforcement officers present cases, and jurors decide if there is enough evidence for a criminal trial. If so, indictments are issued and defendants, most of whom have been free on bond, appear at a formal arraignment to hear the charges they face. Most then remain free on bond pending resolution of the indictments through a trial or plea bargains.

In the case of Albert Lane, 42, P.O. Box, 565 Anguilla, who was facing a charge of non-residential burglary, a no-bill was returned, meaning jurors felt there was not enough evidence for the case to go to trial. Also, Sonja Jackson, 38, 53 Holly Bluff Road, Rolling Fork, had her charge of simple assault on a law enforcement officer reduced to a misdemeanor.
