Michael Thomas Marshall and Angela Lilleen Flood were married at 11 a.m. July 19, 2008, at Delta View Golf Course in Pittsburg, Calif. The Rev. Steve Siglin officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Linda Flood of Antioch, Calif. She is the granddaughter of Wilbur and Lillian Pierson of Sacramento, Calif., and the late William and Eileen Flood of Falls Church, Va.

The groom is the son of Charles and Teresa Marshall of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Agnes McCaffrey and the late Patrick McCaffrey and the late Teddy and Vera Marshall, all of Vicksburg.

Vows were exchanged under a white gazebo adorned with a bouquet of lavender and purple flowers.

The bride’s mother was seated to Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me.” Bridesmaids entered to Pachelbel’s “Canon in D,” followed by Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus” for the bride’s entrance. The recessional was “From This Moment” by Shania Twain.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown created with a fitted bodice and a gathered chiffon overlay. Crystals and pearl-beading adorned the neckline and spaghetti straps and created an asymmetrical pattern across the bodice to the gathered side.

Her ivory, fingertip-length veil, borrowed from her sister-in-law, was edged in satin trim.

She carried a bouquet featuring lavender and purple alstroemerias, roses, hydrangeas, mums, lisanthus, aster and dahlias.

Matron of honor was Jennifer Aldrette, sister of the bride, of Davis, Calif. She wore a strapless, floor-length gown of Victorian lilac with side-ruching fastened in a rhinestone brooch. She carried a nosegay featuring the same flowers as those carried by the bride.

Bridesmaids were Lauren Marshall and Logan Marshall, daughters of the groom, of Vicksburg. Their gowns were identical in design to the dress worn by the matron of honor and were created in a lilac-colored fabric. They each carried handtied bouquets of matching flowers.

Bert Carraway of Flowood served as best man.

The bride’s mother wore a formal, two-piece ensemble of silk ombre chiffon featuring a sleeveless tiered gown trimmed in beads and a matching, cardigan-style jacket. She wore a wristlet of white flowers with silver accents.

A reception followed in the banquet hall of the golf course.

Arrangements of lavender and purple alstroemeria lilies, roses, hydrangeas, mums, lisanthus, aster and dahlias adorned the tables, which were also sprinkled with lavender rose petals and purple and silver Hershey’s kisses.

The three-tiered wedding cake was created with alternating fillings in each layer: white with strawberry and chocolate with vanilla custard. Each tier was iced in buttercream and topped with fresh lavender and purple flowers.

Guests were treated to a buffet of chicken, salmon, assorted vegetables, salads and a beef carving station.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Tennessee.

They will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is an autism program teacher at Beechwood Elementary, and the groom is employed with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.

Out-of-state guests were from Mississippi, Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, Massachusetts and Washington.

Reception

The bride and groom and the groom’s parents hosted a local reception at the Knights of Columbus of Vicksburg.

Luncheon

The bride’s parents hosted a luncheon for the bridal party and family members the day after the wedding at their home in Antioch.

Rehearsal dinner

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Schooner’s Restaurant in Antioch. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Bachelor/bachelorette party

The bridal couple was honored by close family and friends with an evening out in San Francisco.

Showers

Penny Register, Ginny White, Dana Griffen, Mary Ann Taylor, Melisa Wilbanks, Kim Stribling and Shalanda Harris honored the bride with a miscellaneous shower at Beechwood Elementary.

Jennifer Aldrette, sister of the bride, and Jennifer Flood, sister-in-law of the bride, hosted a Southern-charmed shower for the bride in Davis, Calif.
