Zachary Warren Beard
BRANDON — Zachary “Zach” Warren Beard, 14 and a student, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, in Jefferson County as a result of a four-wheeler accident. A private graveside service will be followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. today at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brandon. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon is in charge of arrangements.
Zach was being home schooled and was in the ninth grade. He was a very unique young man. He loved his family and the outdoors very much.
Survivors include his parents, Kenny Jr. and Mickie Beard of Brandon; his maternal grandparents, Lamar and Velma Shumaker of Pearl; his paternal grandparents, Ken Sr. and Faye Beard of Terry; and uncles and aunts, Gary and Natanya Shumaker of Huntsville, Ala., Paul and Jana Fitts of Moorhead, Bobbie and Buddy Rankin of Clinton, Billy and Larraine Brister of Jayess and Tim Beard of Jackson.
Clara Dennard Carre
JACKSON — Clara Dennard Carre, 90, a resident of the Arbor Nursing Home located at the Orchard Ltd., Ridgeland, died peacefully Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Lakewood Funeral Home on Clinton Boulevard with interment following at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mrs. Carre will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Jack Michael Carre.
Mrs. Carre was born on June 23, 1917, in Beaumont, Texas. She moved with her family to McComb, where she finished high school. After graduating from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College, she worked for the Draft Board of Mississippi and later at Mississippi State Hospital (Whitfield). She then obtained a clerical position at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jackson, where she worked until her retirement in 1976. She received numerous awards and recognition for her outstanding service while at the VA. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs in the Jackson area.
She met and married her husband in 1950 and remained his faithful companion until his death in 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Urla Burrus Dennard; and two sisters, Mary Morgan of Columbia and Anne Simmons of McComb.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Nickie Carre of Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Nita and Neal Fowler of Vicksburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Clarke Ammons of McComb; grandchildren, Rocky and wife, Rita Fowler and Debbie and husband, Tem Murphy all of Vicksburg; Mike and wife, Michelle Fowler of Ackerman, Brian and wife, Dana Fowler of Fishers, Ind., Paul and wife, Jeannie Fowler of Gladewater, Texas; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made on her behalf to the Mississippi Alzheimer’s Association, 1900 Dunbarton Drive, Suite H, Jackson, MS 39216.

Billy Robert Coile
BRANDON — Billy Robert Coile, 71, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at the University Medical Center, Jackson. Visitation was at noon Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Brandon, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
Mark Seepe Funeral Directors & Crematorium in Jackson is handling the arrangements.
Billy Coile, son of Henry and Aubyn Baucum Coile, was born Jan. 29, 1936, in Shreveport, La. Following his education, his career led him into the field of accounting, working in general business and, most recently, for the Mississippi Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Prior to his moving to Brandon, he was the business manager of the Moslah Shrine Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr. Coile was involved with the Masons in Pearl, Lodge No. 23 in Jackson, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Shriner, Directors Staff & Flying Fez, Royal Order of the Jesters, Order of Quetzalcoatl (Kokopelli No. 33) and the American Legion.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea, and was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his spouse, Carolyn Kern Coile; daughters, Mary Coile and J’Nell Coile; sons, Edwin Coile and the Rev. Warren (Linus) Coile; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Robby) Minyard; stepson, Robert (Julie) McInnis; and six grandchildren.
