Ellis Allen Thornton Jr.

Ellis Allen Thornton Jr. died Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Ruleville. He was 78.

Mr. Thornton was a native and lifelong resident of Warren County. He was the son of the late Ellis A. and Maggie Sanders Thornton.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War. He was a master carpenter and member of the Episcopal faith.

He is survived by cousins, Ruth King and Joe McBroom, both of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and members of the Sanders and McBroom families.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Nation officiating. Visitation will be at Fisher Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Terry, Butch Bryant, Jimmy Lee, John Lee, Jason Lee and Phillip Lee.
