George W. Rogan Jr.

TALLULAH — George W. Rogan Jr. died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center. He was 81.

Mr. Rogan was born in Corinth, Miss., and had lived most of his life in Madison Parish. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a heavy-equipment operator. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Tressie Hall Rogan of Tallulah; three sons, Freddy Rogan and Mike Rogan, both of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Mark Rogan of Eulas, Texas; one daughter, Gail Spagnola of Double Oak, Texas; three brothers, Lloyd W. Rogan Sr. and John Rogan, both of Tallulah, and Gerald Rogan of Baton Rouge; one sister, Faye Rogan Lane of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the hour of the funeral at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Jewell N. Womack

PEARL — Jewell N. Womack died Monday, March 24, 2008, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. She was 76.

Mrs. Womack was a member of Truitt Memorial Baptist Church in Pearl.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Sidney “Sid” Womack; two brothers, Henry Joiner and Douglas Ray Joiner; two sisters, Berta Faye Tatum and Jean Cooksey.

Survivors include two sons, Don Womack of Bentonia and Randy Womack of Terry; three brothers, Sidney A. Joiner Jr. of Highland,

Texas, Bennie Joyner of Pearl and Dale Joiner of Flowood; three sisters, Doris Ward of Florence, Mildred Knight of Pearl and Bessie Jo Hodge of Utica; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Evans Tabernacle Church of God Cemetery near Union, Miss. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Katie Katherine Baroudy

Katie Katherine Baroudy died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.

Miss Baroudy was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a choir member for many years and past secretary for The Women of St. George. She also served as secretary of the Cedars Ladies Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Very Rev. Father Michael and Adeaby Kharlo Baroudy; two sisters, Alice B. Roberts and Elaine B. Dunn.

Survivors include three sisters, Tillie B. Underwood and Marie Dooling, both of Vicksburg, and Jan B. Brasfield of Brandon; a brother ,Michael Elias Baroudy of Vicksburg; three nephews and two nieces.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with the Very Rev. John Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be John Brasfield, Bob Brasfield, David Brasfield, Wayne Thornton, Albert Habeeb, Jeff Caubarreaux, Robert Abraham and Jamie Jabour.

Honorary pallbearers will be Freddy Abraham, George Tzotzolas, Dr. George E. Abraham, Ellis Koury, Ellis Farris, Elias Rantisi, George Habeeb, Richard Thomas, Charles Abraham, George Nasif, Bob Saway, Jeff West, Charles Haddad, Remy Massey, Rickey Mitchell and David Leese.
