Lea Davies homered and drove in two runs, Sidney Bufkin tripled and knocked in two more, and Vicksburg High earned a spot in the Class 4A slow-pitch playoffs with a 9-2 win over Yazoo City in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday. The win clinched second place in Division 3-4A for Vicksburg (6-10-1, 4-3-1), which will face the Division 1-4A champion in the first round of the playoffs. The playoffs begin Oct. 7.

Vicksburg lost the second game of the doubleheader, 12-6. Kelli Brewer had a double, triple and two RBIs for VHS.
