A Vicksburg man accused of firing shots at Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen from his car Tuesday night was arrested about 15 minutes later, Vicksburg Police said.
Derrick Darnell Marsh, 42, 419 Haas St., was arrested at 11 p.m., less than 15 minutes after restaurant employees reported shots fired at the front of the building. Police have charged him with multiple counts of attempted aggravated assault.
A restaurant employee recognized Marsh, according to reports, and his vehicle was spotted on Halls Ferry Road. A police officer followed Marsh to his residence.
He was arrested there without incident. A .380-caliber handgun, ammunition and several shell casings were found in his vehicle, criminal intelligence analyst Suzan Ebeling said.
Marsh also faces charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of a weapon by a felon, Ebeling said.
Marsh was being held without bond at Warren County Jail awaiting a court hearing today.
Second mugging suspect surrenders to city police
A second suspect in a mugging Saturday night surrendered to Vicksburg Police at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Brandin Lane, 17, 229 High Hill Drive, is one of four suspects in a mugging on Drummond Street, first reported on Bowmar Avenue.
Another suspect, Brandon Jackson, 18, was arrested Saturday evening on Bowmar.
Lane was being held at Issaquena County Correctional Facility with a $10,000 bond.
City woman jailed on possession charge
A search warrant served by Vicksburg Police this morning yielded marijuana and an arrest.
Vanessa Reynolds, 20, 1318 Grove St., was in Issaquena County Correctional Facility this morning on a $5,000 bond, charged by Vicksburg Police with possession with intent to deliver.
She was arrested after police entered her residence at 6:30 a.m. and found an undisclosed amount of marijuana.
Man says wallet, $860 missing from unlocked car
A man reported his wallet stolen from a truck parked in Ameristar Casino parking lot Monday.
The wallet contained $860 and credit cards, according to Vicksburg Police reports.
The vehicle was left unlocked.
Umbrella, pressure washer reported taken from home
A golf umbrella and a pressure washer were reported stolen from outside a residence in the 2300 block of Drummond Street yesterday.
The theft was reported to Vicksburg Police at 4:30 p.m. The pressure washer was valued at $500.
