The drama, being presented for the first time in three years, takes about 20 minutes to see. Scenes include the angel, Gabriel, appearing to Mary to tell her she is going to have a child, Mary and Joseph as they travel to Bethlehem, the manger scene, the wise men bringing gifts to the child, the cross and the ascension to Heaven.

In the past, “God’s Christmas Gift,” in a courtyard area of the church on Cherry at Harrison streets, has averaged well over 1,000 visitors each year.

Admission is free and the drama will run each night from 6 until 9 p.m. Warm dress is suggested because the majority of the scenes are outdoors.  Hot beverages will be provided.

The event will return in 2010.
