The engagement of Holly Brooke Nutter to Billy Deberry Stokes, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009, at First Pentecostal Church. A reception will follow at the church. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Nutter is the daughter of Marty and Laura Dement of Vicksburg and Patrick and Phon Nutter of Flora. She is the granddaughter of Thomas Leo Nutter, the late JoNelle Nutter and the late John William Searcy, all of Flora; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hayman of Raleigh; and Shirley B. Rust and the late Cecil Dement, both of Vicksburg.

Mr. Stokes is the son of Ronnie Stokes and Diane Stokes, both of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Billy and Peggy Stokes and Bonnie Stokes, all of Vicksburg, and Wilfred and Elizabeth Waltman of Wesson.

The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She is attending Hinds Community College.

Miss Nutter is employed at Woodlawn Daycare.

The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of Warren Central High School. He attended Hinds Community College and LeTourneau Welding School.

Mr. Stokes is employed at LeTourneau Technologies.
