Audrey J. Howell died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Hospice Ministries Hospital in Ridgeland. She was 91.

Born in Louisiana, Mrs. Howell was the daughter of the late William and Susan Perry Jagers. She had lived in Vicksburg since she was a child. She worked for People’s Drug Store for 33 years and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star Acacia Chapter No. 56.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Howell; two sisters, Jewel McNair and Ruby Wishum; two brothers, Eugene Jagers and Steve William Johnson Jagers; and a granddaughter, Donna Howell DeRossette.

Mrs. Howell is survived by two daughters, Sue Boykin and Emily Cecil Williams, both of Madison; two sons, Ted Howell and Paul Howell, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Effie Timbs of Tishomingo; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with Dr. John G. McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon Thursday until the service at the funeral home.
