John Boler

John “Al” Boler died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at his residence. He was 59.

Mr. Boler was a Vicksburg native. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years and was a veteran and helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. He was employed by University Medical Center in Jackson as its Aircare helicopter pilot. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cynthia Stevens Boler of Vicksburg; three sons, Michael Boler and wife Stephanie and Justin Boler and wife Misty, all of Vicksburg, and Alan Boler and wife Suzanne of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Randy Boler of Vicksburg and Mike Boler of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Boler, Nathan Boler and Ashlyn Boler, all of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Reggie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Gardner, Kendall Stevens, Johnnie Nosser, Chris DeRossette, Terry West and Jerry Briggs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin King, Mark Randall, Donna Norris, Charlie Swearinger, Paul Boackle, Paula French, Paul Reihle, Bo Sullivan, Dan Turner, Bill Bailey, Mark Gautelly, Mike Mims, Damon Darsey, Todd Perry, Mark Turner, Duke Baker, Mary Lynn Hartfield, Jeannie Anders, Dr. Hildon Sessums and the staff of Providence Hospice.

Memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson.
