HOW THEY DID

A look at how college football players with ties to the Vicksburg area did in games played over the weekend:

• Louisiana-Monroe defensive back Otis Stamps (Warren Central) had two solo tackles and one assist in a 37-15 win over Alabama A&M on Friday.

• Southern Miss safety Chico Hunter (WC) had 11 solo tackles, four assists, one-half tackle for loss, and two pass breakups in a 27-24 win over Arkansas State on Saturday.

• Delta State linebacker Jesse Pedyfoot (WC) had two solo tackles, two assists, one tackle for loss and a fumble recovery in a 37-31 victory against Arkansas-Monticello.

• Delta State defensive back Garret Williams (South Delta) had three solo tackles and one assist in the win over the Boll Weevils.

• Mississippi College linebacker Quartez Ashmore (Vicksburg High) had eight tackles in a 49-28 loss to the University of the Cumberlands.

• Millsaps defensive back Marcus Harris (VHS) had one solo tackle, three assists, an interception and two pass breakups in a 34-14 win over Belhaven.

• Millsaps linebacker Marcus Stokes (VHS) had one tackle for loss and a fumble recovery in the win over Belhaven.

• Millsaps’ Jordan Granville (St. Aloysius) started at center for the Majors against Belhaven.

• Southern Illinois running back Larry Warner (WC) carried the ball 16 times for 73 yards and a touchdown in a 33-7 loss to Northwestern. Warner also caught two passes for minus-6 yards, returned one punt for 15 yards, and returned three kickoffs for 48 yards. He had a 40-yard kickoff return that set up his 19-yard TD run in the first quarter.
