One of four injured in hospital after wreckOne of four Warren County residents involved in a head-on collision on Lee Road Wednesday remained hospitalized this morning while condition reports were unavailable on two others. The fourth person has been treated and released.

Robert Harrison, 23, 4598 Lee Road, was listed in good condition at University Medical Center this morning, a hospital spokesman said. Condition reports were not available on Vallerie Burnside, 27, same address, who was transferred from River Region Medical Center to an unnamed hospital, and Taylor Hayden, 21, 115 J.A. West Drive, listed in fair condition Thursday morning at River Region. Jill Erwin, 16, 185 Hometwon Road, was treated and released.

In contrast to what was reported Thursday, Hayden, also identified as Taylor King, was the driver of a westbound Chevrolet truck that veered into the oncoming lane and struck a Mercury Marquis driven by Harrison. Erwin was a passenger in Hayden’s vehicle, and Burnside was riding in Harrison’s car.

Warren County Undersheriff Jeff Riggs said the collision occurred near Burton Lane at about 7 p.m. He also noted that the wreck remained under investigation.

Tensas racks up 5 arrests in 2 daysA scuffle in St. Joseph last weekend landed four in jail Wednesday, including a man wanted in Texas, Tensas Parish Sheriff Ricky Jones said.

The four St. Joseph residents arrested are:

Walter B. Marshall Jr., 24, 122 Hale St., charged with aggravated battery. His bond was set at $7,500.

Joyce A. Marshall, 26, 104 Woodlawn St., also charged with aggravated battery and had a $7,500 bond.

Montrell Banks, 31, 104 Woodlawn St., whose charges include aggravated battery and aggravated assault. His bond was set at $10,000.

And Marlon Lewis, 21, 305 Ninth St., charged with flight from an officer, simple assault and possession of cocaine. He was being held with no bond because he is listed as a fugitive in Harris County, Texas, Jones said.

Jones said the charges stem from a fight in front of the B&G Club that sent one man to Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro with minor injuries.

All four, arrested at various locations in St. Joseph, were taken to the Tensas Parish Jail following their arrests.

Separately, a traffic accident landed a drug arrest for the Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Department Tuesday, Jones added.

Frederick Parker, 42, 405 Railroad St., Tallulah, who was involved in an wreck on Louisiana 65 just outside of St. Joseph, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Deputies found 307 grams of cocaine, with a street value of about $30,000, in Parker’s vehicle.

Parker was taken to the Tensas Parish Jail and his bond was set at $50,000.
