MUSKEGON, Mich. — Willie Mae Bernard died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at her home in Muskegon, Mich. She was 88.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Bernard was reared in Slidell, La., and had lived in Muskegon for five years. She was a member of Mount Elem M.B. Church of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Bernard Sr.; and a daughter, Dorothy Bernard.

She is survived by a son, Andrew Bernard Jr. of Muskegon; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives.
