A washer and dryer were reported stolen in the city Wednesday.

Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said the burglary was reported in the 1900 block of Walnut Street at 3:38 p.m.

Missing were a Hotpoint washing machine and a Kenmore dryer with a combined value of $500.

Louisiana man grabbed on warrant for arson

A Louisiana man was arrested Wednesday at a Vicksburg casino hotel on a warrant for an arson in Jackson around June 14.

Freddy Bradshaw, 207 Crystal St., Bastrop, was arrested at 4:51 p.m. by Vicksburg and Jackson police, Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Bradshaw was arrested without incident and taken to Jackson.

Information on what was burned was not available.

Two injured in wreck in Waltersville area

One Vicksburg resident was transferred to another hospital and a second resident was treated and released locally after a one-car wreck Wednesday night.

Vicksburg Fire Department ambulance records show the driver, Daryl Taylor, 26, 10 Kings Drive, Apt. B, was transferred to an unnamed facility.

Passenger Lashawn Grissom, 18, 130 D Waltersville Estates, was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, said hospital spokesman Diane Gawronski.

The wreck was reported at 10:39 p.m. at Ford Road and Waltersville Street.

No police report on the wreck was available.

Car stolen in Jackson abandoned on Bowmar

A 1999 Toyota Camry reported stolen in Jackson in December was found abandoned in the 500 block of Bowmar Avenue at 3:38 p.m. Wednesday.

Vicksburg Police records show the car was being held for pickup by the owners.
