Mrs. Mattie Sue Shelby, age 69, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at her home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today, Sept. 26, at Glenwood Funeral Home. Services will be graveside at Cedar Hill Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert L. Shelby officiating.

Mrs. Shelby was a lifelong resident of the Vicksburg and Valley Park areas. She was retired from Michael’s Jewelry store and was a member of Valley Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Shelby; her daughter, Shelia Shelby; and her sister, Robbie Gilliland.

Mrs. Shelby is survived by her daughter, Renea Bell and husband Randy of Vicksburg; her son, Lamar Shelby and wife Sheri of Vicksburg; her sisters, Jackie Martin of Hattiesburg, Betty Hancock of Morehead and Addie Rutherford of Lake Village, Ark.; her brothers, Jim Gilliland Jr. of Trinity, Ala., Oscar Gilliland of Como and Robert Gilliland of Belzoni; and her grandchildren, Heather Shelby, Kristi Shelby, Jason Bell and Jeffrey Bell.

Pallbearers will be Gary Gilliland, Roger Gilliland, Johnny Smith, Charles Sessions Jr., Steve Gilliland and Mike Gilliland.

Honorary pallbearers will be the caregivers of Providence Hospice and Dr. Lara Clement.
