Antonio Terrell Bryant

CANTON – Antonio Terrell Bryant died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in Canton. He was 24.

Mr. Bryant was born in Yazoo City. He lived for a number of years in Vicksburg, where he attended various churches. He was a graduate of Grenada High School and attended Hinds Community College in Utica. He was a manager at the Sonic Drive-In in Canton.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bessie Bryant and Lawrence Gillium.

Survivors include his two daughters, Iyanna Bryant and Tyasia Bryant, both of Canton; his mother, Leorise Bryant of Vicksburg; a sister, Latosca Bryant of Vicksburg; a brother, Michael Curtis Johnson of Tallulah; and other relatives, including Eugene and Patricia Anderson and Cory Rone of Vicksburg and members of the Anderson, Rone, McClodden, Young, Gaines and Tonth families.

Services will be at noon on Saturday at Locust Grove Church in Vicksburg. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Lillian V. Harrison

Lillian V. Harrison died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe. She was 67.

Mrs. Harrison lived in Vicksburg most of her life and had lived for the past 2 1/2-years with her daughter in Bastrop, La. A homemaker, she was formerly employed with The Salvation Army and was a member of The Salvation Army Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas F. and Leathan House Hart; and her husband, J.C. Harrison.

Survivors include three sons, Samuel Harrison of Port Gibson, Irvin Harrison of Tallulah and J.C. Harrison of Beekman, La.; two daughters, Renee Harrison of Washburn, Wis., and Renita Hemphill of Bastrop; two sisters, Doris Hill of Vicksburg and Betty Davis of Charlotte, N.C.; and 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home of Vicksburg with Shirley Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Trey Collum, Eric Collum, Brent Collum, Rocky Hemphill Jr., Franklin Harrison and Samuel Harrison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Harrison and Jonah Harrison.

Larry Gene Kirkland

UTICA – Larry Gene Kirkland died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at his home in Utica. He was 68.

Mr. Kirkland was a salesman for Fowler Buick in Jackson for a number of years. He served as campaign manager for Doug Shanks, Jackson city commissioner candidate, and for George Dale, Mississippi insurance commissioner candidate.

He was preceded in death by his birth father, James Boyd Kirkland; his mother, Peggy Aldridge Pidanich; and two brothers, Mickey Pidanich and George Pidanich.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lewis Kirkland of Utica; two sons, Larry Kirkland Jr. of Columbus, Ga., and Chris Kirkland of Utica; two daughters, Kelly Weaver and Janet DeRhodes, both of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Amy Williams of Pearl; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Opal Mobley of Utica.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mobley Cemetery in Utica with the Rev. Lauren Porter officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Utica. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home in Utica.

Devin Marvell Moore

Devin Marvell Moore died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 23.

Mr. Moore was a food server at Ameristar Casino, a student at Jackson State University and a member of 61 North Bypass Church of Christ. He graduated from Warren Central High School and Hinds Community College.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnnie Moore and Betsie and Joe Graves.

Survivors include his parents, Eddie L. Graves Sr. and Helen Moore Williams, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Collin Carvey Jr. and Eddie Graves Jr., both of Vicksburg; three sisters, Nicole Smith, Kimberly Graves and Amber Graves, all of Vicksburg; a grandmother, Jackie Coleman of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Rayford Earl Renfro

WAYNESBORO, Miss. – Rayford Earl Renfro died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, Miss. He was 76.

Mr. Renfro was a nativve of Crowder, Miss. He had worked as a public school teacher. He was a member of New Grace Baptist Church of Millry, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Viola Renfro; four brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hester Renfro of Millry; two daughters, Linda Renfro and Joy Renfro, both of Vicksburg; two stepsons, Wayne Hester of Millry and Donald Hester of Tuscaloosa; two stepdaughters, Sandra Phillips of Thomasville, Ala., and Donna Cannon of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a sister, Eunice Rogers of Memphis; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with the Rev. Paul Cartmill officiating. Burial will be at New Grace Baptist Church Cemetery in Millry. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

Brent Shelby Sr.

Brent Shelby Sr. died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 87.

Mr. Shelby attended Jefferson County Schools in Fayette. He was a veteran of World War II and had been a member of King David No. 2 Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Shelby; three brothers, Charlie Shelby, Sherman Shelby and Roosevelt Shelby; two sisters, Geneva Knight and Martha Malone; and a daughter, Guster Mae Sterling.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Shelby and Charles Shelby, both of Vicksburg, Brent Shelby Jr. of Natchitoches, La., and Ulysses Wolf of Detroit; three daughters, Henretta Shelby, Brenda Shelby and Rose Shelby, all of Vicksburg; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with family present from 5 until 6.
