Josephine Howell Marquis

Josephine Howell Marquis died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, in Georgetown, Texas. She was 84.

Born in Cleveland, Miss., Mrs. Marquis had lived in Vicksburg for more than 50 years. She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where she served in Substance Procurement. She was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Bob Alford of Issaquah, Wash.; and her daughter, Jo Lynn Long of Georgetown.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Old Cleveland Cemetery with the Rev. LaDon Dawson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Landy Teller, Dennis Taylor, Mitch Martin, Robert E. Everett, Capt. E.R. Alford and Bradford Walker.
