A second Vicksburg man has been arraigned in a shooting that kicked off the most violent month in Vicksburg’s history.

Eric Campbell, 28, 503 Fairground St., was indicted Friday by Warren County grand jurors on charges of murder, aggravated assault and shooting into a dwelling. The victim in the June 6 shooting on Speed Street was 26-year-old David Becker, who died three weeks later. 

Antonio Glasper, 22, 74 Red Hawk Road, who is also charged with the crime, was indicted Thursday.

The death of Becker began month that saw four more Vicksburg residents killed.

Eric Jackson, who was among 19 people arraigned Thursday, is accused in the June 26 shooting deaths of Denise Jackson, who was 25 and the mother of three, her unborn child and Preston Qualls, 25, whose body was found later in the yard of a nearby house.

Also involved in the June murders was Eric Davis, 34, 112 Meadowvale Drive, who is accused of the shooting death of Devin M. Moore, 23. Davis’ case will be presented during the January term of the grand jury.

Campbell was among 44 people arraigned Friday, the final installment of the October grand jury. Since being empaneled Monday, grand jurors considered 101 cases against 133 individuals. The week concluded with indictments in 84 cases and no bills in 13, meaning there was not enough evidence to indict. Other cases were reduced to misdemeanors, and one was forwarded to the January grand jury. Arrest warrants were issued for those who failed to appear for their arraignments.
