Mr. Pell, Miss Lancaster exchange vows on Sept. 13

Robert Hiram “Sonny” Pell and Ashley Rena Lancaster were married at 6 p.m. Sept. 13, 2008, at the home of Billy and Pauline Sheffield. Bill Lauderdale officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Katherine Hunt of Carthage.

The groom is the son of Bobby and Laveda Pell of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Alfred and Evelyn Holland of Vidalia, La., and Robert Pell and the late Myrtle Pell of Port Gibson.

Fall flowers and tulle adorned the area.

Mothers and grandparents were seated to “Wind Beneath My Wings.” The bridal attendants entered to “When I Said I Do,” followed by “I Could Not Ask for More” for the bride’s entrance. For the exchange of the child’s rings, “The Dad He Didn’t Have to Be” was played. “My Best Friend” was played for the lighting of the unity candle.

The bride was given in marriage by  her son, Christian Michael Lancaster. She wore a full, floor-length, strapless gown of ivory with a champagne sash. She wore a crystal-and-rhinestone tiara.

She carried a trio of burnt orange calla lilies interspersed with ivory lilies.

Maid of honor was Kendra Fortenberry of Osyka. She wore a strapless, floor-length gown in a cognac color.

Bridesmaids were Jonette Brown of Delta, Tiffany Sherman of Vicksburg and Charity Greathouse of Vidor, Texas. They each wore floor-length, strapless gowns of peridot green.

Flower girl was Jade Stribling of Carthage. She wore a sleeveless, tea-length, ivory-colored gown with a champagne sash.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Spencer Pell, Ramey Williams and William Wienke, all of Vicksburg.

Ushers were Joey Cessna and Tim Gibson, both of Vicksburg, and Carvis Purvis of Carthage.

Ring bearer was Christian Michael Lancaster of Vicksburg.

The bride’s mother wore a brown pantsuit accented with a fall-colored top. The groom’s mother wore a chocolate-brown, tea-length ensemble.

Both mothers wore corsages of baby’s breath and baby roses.

A reception followed at the pool house of Billy and Pauline Sheffield. The area was decorated in a fall motif and featured tulle, tea-light candles and autumn flowers.

Hostesses were Tammy Allement, Mary Landers, Donna Roberts and Becky Poole.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Gulf Shores, Ala.

They will make their home in Vicksburg, where the groom is employed at Ergon-SpecFab.
