Mayberry is headed to Vicksburg.
On Oct. 4, “Mayberry CSI,” a dinner theater by the Jackson-based Mayberry Ministry, will be performed at First Baptist Church.
“We are really looking forward to the ‘Mayberry CSI’ Dinner Theater,” said Jim Hess of First Baptist, associate to the pastor and minister to senior adults. “It should be family oriented and a lot of fun for everyone.”
The ministry began in 1997 as a way to raise money for a missions trip. Now, Mayberry Ministry travels to churches throughout the Southeast and entertains crowds of all ages. They bring their own set, but the churches provide dinner. The group pays its own expenses and believe that is why God has blessed them.

“Mayberry CSI” Dinner Theater will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 4 at First Baptist Church’s Family Life Center, 1607 Cherry St. Tickets are $10. Call 601-636-2493.
“We just have a group of ordinary people,” said Paula Hutto, the director and scripts writer for Mayberry Ministry. “It’s our ministry, and that’s what we give.”
In 11 years, Mayberry Ministry has raised more than $260,000 for missions in China, Mexico, Brazil and all over the world. The “Mayberry CSI” Dinner Theatre is a spoof on the 1960s “Andy Griffith Show” with a twist on the modern-day television series “CSI.”
“We strive for good clean fun for everyone,” said Hutto.
Tickets for the dinner theater are $10 per person. Proceeds will benefit outreach programs and the Highland Ministry at La Croix Church in Baton Rouge. Barry Lagg is pastor of La Croix, but he grew up attending and was a youth intern at First Baptist Church in Vicksburg.
“I really appreciate the love and support from friends and family that help us reach the area for Christ,” said Lagg.
