Services for Solomon Rafael Lynwood Kennedy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilbert Doss officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Kennedy died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Promise Hospital of Vicksburg. He was 91.

Mr. Kennedy was born in Port Gibson. He was retired from the P.P. Williams Company and Rouse Rubber.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Sunshine Lodge No. 99.

Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Kennedy; his parents, Solomon Kennedy and Georgia Burks Gross; two brothers, the Rev. W.R. Gross and Mack Gross; and six sisters, Mary Gross, Nelly Gross, Martha Gross, Mary Gross, Eliza Gross and Elnora Gross.

He is survived by his daughter, Willie Mae Brooklyn Coleman of St. Paul, Minn.; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and others, including his caregiver, V
