Ronnie Stewart Lee
Ronnie Stewart Lee died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at his home. He was 63.
Born in Scott County, Mr. Lee had lived in Vicksburg most of his life. He was a bartender at Diamond-Jacks Casino.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Lee Jr. and Mamie Lou Lee; two brothers, Grover Cleveland Lee Jr. and Arthur Joe Lee; and one sister, Jesstine Lee.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Lee of Vicksburg; one son, Albert Harris of Vicksburg; three daughters, Jerutha Jiles of Las Vegas and Michelle Barnes and Stephanie Lee, both of Vicksburg; one brother, Woody Lee of Chicago; two sisters, Annie Mae Hall of Vicksburg and Aretha Walker of Chicago; nine grandchildren; and other relatives.
Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
John M. Richie
John M. “Johnny” Richie died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 47.
Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Richie was a graduate of Porters Chapel Academy where he was active in the baseball program.
Mr. Richie had been an employee of Simpson-DuraVent for 24 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter L. Richie Jr. He is survived by his wife, Crystal K. Richie of Vicksburg; three daughters, Karie Lynch and husband, Wayne, Delicia McMillian and fiance, Micheal Quinton, and Dayna N. Haney and husband, Brian, all of Vicksburg; one son, Derek D. Nugent of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, Preston Lynch, Maddox Lynch, Bailey Ryan McMillian, Kolby Lane McMillian, Ashton Nugent and Brian “Christopher” Haney Jr.; two sisters, Jeannie Richie and husband, David, and Tammy C. Hays and husband, Eddie, all of Vicksburg; two brothers, Walter L. “Ricky” Richie III and wife, Leah, of New York and Joey Cessna and wife, Ashley, of Vicksburg; his mother, Ethel Marie Cessna of Vicksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Sibley, pastor of Eagle Lake Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Paul Flaharty, Tony Irwin, Randy Cummins, Rocky Shiers, Randy Carpenter, Jerry Kelly, Howard Johnson, Eddie Evans and Hugh Guest.
