Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wood of Burleson, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Gayle, to Clark Anderson McLaurin of Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. McLaurin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray C. McLaurin of Vicksburg.

Miss Wood is the granddaughter of Mrs. Tommy Wood and the late Mr. Wood of Crowley, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Barney Kennedy of Fort Worth.

Mr. McLaurin is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ober Anderson of Thompson, Iowa, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtin McLaurin of DeKalb.

The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Burleson High School. She received an associate degree in nursing from Southwestern Adventist University.

Miss Wood is employed at All-Care Home Health.

The prospective groom is a 1995 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He received a health-care administration degree from Auburn University.

Mr. McLaurin is an administrator for Keller Oaks Health Care.

The wedding will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 9, 2009, at Secrets Capri in Riviera Maya, Mexico. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

A celebration of the couple’s engagement was held Saturday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Paul W. Pierce III.
