F.P. Baylot Jr.

F.P. “Buddy” Baylot Jr. died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson after a brief illness. He was 83.
Born in Covington, La., he was the son of the late Fernand Peter Baylot Sr. and Beulah Pitre Baylot. Mr. Baylot was a former longtime resident of Vicksburg and had been a resident of Jackson and Richland for the past 23 years. He was a graduate of Carr Central High School.
Mr. Baylot was manager of the Vicksburg Thom McAn Shoe Store for 30 years, later moving to Jackson where he was manager of the Thom McAn Store until his retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
For the past 12 years, he was employed by the Jackson Public Schools as a school bus diver and aide. He was a member of the North Jackson Lions Club and a communicant of St. Jude Catholic Church of Pearl.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Baylot was predeceased by a granddaughter, Teresa Baylot Kaderli; and a sister, Magdalen Baylot.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lowry Baylot of Richland; two sons, Paul W. Baylot Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Houston, Texas, and David M. Baylot and his wife, Brenda, of Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Lisa F. Taylor and her husband, Samuel, of Richland; six grandchildren, Paul W. Baylot Jr., Carter B. Baylot, Colin L. Baylot, Emily Rose Taylor, Anna Claire Taylor and Matthew Austin Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Kaderli and Tucker Kaderli; and three brothers, Erwin A. Baylot and his wife, Sylvia, of Vicksburg, James Baylot and his wife, Mildred, of Brandon and Lawrence Baylot and his wife, Emma, of Terry.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. P.J. Curley, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service.
