A Port Gibson man showed his identification to a clerk at a pawn shop in Vicksbsurg Tuesday, then stole a gun from the business, police said this morning.
Jerrel Moore, 22, 1012 Frank and Cora Road, surrendered to Vicksburg police Thursday and was charged with burglary of a commercial building and possession of a stolen weapon, said police Lt. Bobby Stewart.
Moore is accused of stealing a 9-mm Ruger P89 pistol Tuesday from Top Dollar Pawn & Gun on Washington Street, Stewart said. The gun, valued at $469, was recovered.
Moore, who showed his ID because he first was selling a microwave to the store, was in Warren County Jail this morning on $7,500 bond.
