Miss Kerut, Mr. Prescott to exchange vows Jan. 17

Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Philip Kerut of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Laurie Marie, to Matthew Wayne Prescott. Mr. Prescott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lamar Prescott of Vicksburg.
Miss Kerut is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Allen Weathersby of Pelahatchie and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund G. Kerut of Clinton.
Mr. Prescott is the grandson of George Lamar Prescott and the late Elsie Robert Prescott of Summit and Lurie Salvo Ramagos and the late Sheldon Walter Ramagos of Natchez.
The bride-elect is a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, where she was chosen a homecoming maid and was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, retreat team and yearbook staff. She attended Mississippi State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and was on the dean’s list. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Miss Kerut is a registered nurse with St. Dominic Health Systems.
The prospective groom is a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, where he was on the football team. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in family and consumer sciences from the University of Mississippi, where he was on the dean’s list.
Mr. Prescott is a sales representative for RSC Equipment Rental.
Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Jan. 17, 2009, at First Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Cub.
