Sharon Mize McDonald

STARKVILLE — Sharon Mize McDonald, 62, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Starkville. Visitation is from 5 to 7 tonight at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.

Sharon loved her Lord and her family very much. She was an active member of the Sanctuary Choir and the Lydia Sunday School Class at First Baptist. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was a former secretary with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Jesse McDonald of Starkville; one daughter, Denise Cosper and her husband, Chris, both of Starkville; two grandsons, Ryan and Jason Cosper of Starkville; her mother, Elaine Mize of Oxford; a sister, Lane Martin of Oxford; and a brother, Everett Mize of Oxford.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Mize of Oxford.

Marrietta B. Murray

Marrietta B. Murray died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 85.

Mrs. Murray was born in Vicksburg. She had worked for many years at the Blue Room Sky Line and Canizaro’s. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Maude Etta Maxey Burnside; and her husband, Robert Murray.

Survivors include a son, Robert “Bob” Scott of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Doris Barry and Virginia Bryant, both of St. Louis; Wardell Wince, Irene Maxey and John Maxey, all of Vicksburg; Toya Wince Ford of Jackson; and nieces and nephews.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
