Thelma Holloway Havard

Services for Thelma Holloway Havard will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Church in Bovina with Pastor Tyrone Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.

Mrs. Havard died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at her home. She was 85.

Born in LaMont, Miss., Mrs. Havard was a member of St. Paul Church in Bovina. She served as organist there, as well as at numerous churches in Vicksburg.

She was a member and worthy matron of St. Mary’s Chapter No. 1 Order of Eastern Star, Mount Alban No. 14.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Havard; and her mother, Inez P. Welch.

Survivors include a stepson, Lester Havard of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Deborah Havard-Waites and Shelia Havard-Rimsey, both of Vicksburg; four granddaughters; her caregiver, Peggy J. Turner of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including Larry Sweet Sr., Joan Adams, Uylanda Weathers and Randall Mauck, all of Vicksburg.
