The Rev. Jessie and Maxine Jones are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. Serving for 19 years, The Rev. Jones is pastor of Soul Saving M.B. Church. Both Vicksburg natives, they returned here in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina.

The Joneses have five children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They were married Aug. 19, 1962, and will be honored by their church today with a celebration. They have received a presidential greeting from The White House.
