Wade Benjamin

PORT GIBSON — Wade Benjamin died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 78.
Mr. Benjamin was a member and head deacon at White Hall M.B. Church in Pattison. He had been a farmer and logger for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Sylvia Gaines-Benjamin; two brothers, Willie Benjamin and Brown Benjamin; a sister, Mattie Morris Moody; a son, Wade Benjamin Jr.; and a daughter, Diane Benjamin.
Survivors include his wife, Katie T. Benjamin; three sons, Johnny Benjamin, Clifton Benjamin and Dannie Benjamin, all of Pattison; six daughters, Jessie Benjamin of Baton Rouge, Sarah Barnes of New Orleans, Victoria Myles of Brandon, Shirley M. Johnson of Conway, Ark., and Elizabeth Myles and Bobbie White, both of Natchez; one sister, Ada Jones of Thibodaux, La.; 13 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Lucille Collier of Baton Rouge.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at White Hall M.B. Church in Pattison with the Rev. Leroy Dee officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
