The noise Mississippi State is making in the SEC Tournament is only getting louder.

The Bulldogs got a brilliant performance from ace Chris Stratton and got enough offense to make it stick in a 3-2 win over top-seeded LSU Wednesday in Hoover, Ala.

The junior right-hander allowed five hits and two earned runs in six innings of work, while becoming MSU’s first 11-game winner since Bobby Reed won 15 games in 1990.

“These kids are winners,” MSU coach John Cohen said. “They want to win so badly. They will do whatever it takes to win. They are winners. That is why it is fun to be around them every day. They understand what it takes to be successful on this level.”

Mississippi State will play today at 1 p.m. against Kentucky, while LSU played Ole Miss at 9:30 a.m. in an elimination game.
