A 4-year-old injured in a weekend drive-by shooting at his home in Kings is recovering, and his grandmother says reports of criminal activity at the residence have nothing to do with the shooting.

Arkeevian Warfield was shot four times in the leg at the trailer at 20 Water Well Road, home to 19 additional people. At the time of the shooting, late Friday night, 18 people were inside. Arkeevian was taken to River Region Medical Center and transferred to University Medical Center, where he stayed until Sunday afternoon.

Vicksburg police Chief Walter Armstrong said police have responded to more than 100 calls since 1996, at what he called an “active residence” in Kings, but Mary Ann Buck, the owner who has lived at the home since 1989, said those calls are not related to the shooting, and not all of them were for illegal activity.
