Services for Annie Marie “Ree Baby” Murphy will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Erwin Cosey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 until 7 p.m. Thursday with family present from 6 until 7.

Mrs. Murphy died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 73.

She was born Oct. 13, 1938, in Vicksburg. She was the daughter of the late Annie Lee Johnson and the late Lovell Johnson.

She was a member of King David Baptist Church of LeTourneau. She attended Warren County Public Schools and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic school.

Mrs. Murphy attended beauty and barber college in Tyler, Texas, before moving to Chicago and attending Triton Community College and Technical Institute, where she received certification in bookkeeping. She returned to Vicksburg and worked as a cashier/manager until her retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lou Walker; and one brother, Harry Cross Sr.

Survivors include one son, Timothy Lovell Reeves of Vicksburg; four daughters, Michelle Henderson, Bennie Marie Jackson and Adrina Ray Murphy Johnson, all of Vicksburg, and Stephanie K. Cross Williams of Clinton; a brother, Osie Cross of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Reatha Clark, Irma Love, Annie Mae Burks and members of the Townsend, Kelly and Carter families.
