A mess in the schools

I was sitting around wondering again about the school district for the past two or three months and sure enough, two of the superintendent’s employees retired or moved up. The superintendent then picked two people to replace them, but those two were voted down by the school board.
Now, here it is weeks later and the superintendent has created two new jobs and named the same two people for these jobs at a cost of about $300,000 a year for salary and benefits.
I know that figure sounds high for two jobs, but wait a minute, you have to add a secretary for each, a car and also a credit card. Now you have about $250,000 more to pay for these two new jobs. Glad to know the school system has this kind of money.
I was wondering how long it would take the school’s top dogs to join the city and county government? I believe this is the most idiotic thing I have ever read in The Vicksburg Post, or ever heard of any city and county.
I once said Vicksburg was a little Chicago. Well I want to retract that statement. Now, I believe the city and county governments of Chicago would be ashamed of what’s going on in Vicksburg and Warren County.
Now it seems as if the superintendent is going to replace the first two jobs with either four or six more people. All she has to do is respond, because we will keep check on how many new people work for those two new jobs she created out of thin air.
Wait a minute, I have just one more wonder: I know these new created assistants’ jobs are good, didn’t the city government, about two years ago create a new assistant job for the mayor of Vicksburg? Well I was just wondering where that created assistant job stands now.
Hope the Vicksburg paper keeps everyone informed about all those picked-out-of-the-air-created jobs in the city and county.
