Lavonne Perrin

GRENADA — Lavonne “Tootie” Perrin, 84, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Galva, Iowa, to Einar and Hester Johnson. She married her husband of 57 years, Delbert “Junebug” Perrin, on Sept. 11, 1953. They moved throughout the Midwest and settled in Vicksburg. Ten years ago, they relocated to Grenada. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Grenada. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, kind grandma and a special great-grandmother, who supported the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren by attending their activities and encouraging them to set high goals. She was positive and eager to help anyone, a loving woman, and an avid sports fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert “Junebug” Perrin; a daughter, Joey Daigre; her parents, Hester & Einar Johnson; and a nephew Franny Reimers.

She is survived by her children Boyd “Bump” Perrin (Lanette) of LaPlace, La., Pauly Oakes (Bo) of Grenada, Peggy Elkins of Fort Collins, Col., Jeannie Logan (Ben) of Grenada, Bubba Daigre (Jan) of Vicksburg and Frank Francis (Connie) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; grandchildren, Megan Perrin Clement (Jay), Tony Ojeda (Andrea), Christopher Cotogno (Angel), Rene’ Oakes Garner (Clay), Mary Ann Oakes Jackson (Kevin), Becky Oakes Surrell (Cole), Heather Oakes, Jeannie Elkins, Mallory Elkins, Dana Daigre Hamilton (Clint), Heath Daigre, Claiborne Bryant, Meg Logan, Beth Logan, Kate Logan, Tracey Reitmeier, Becky Reitmeier; great-grandchildren, Perrin Jackson, Mary Pinson Jackson, Seth Jackson, Jacob Garner, Sydney Garner, Mary Ashton Surrell, Perrin Michael Clement, Abram Ojeda, Cecile Ojeda, Finley Ojeda, Cameron Cotogno, Oliva Cotogno, and Connor Cotogno.

Visitation will be tonight, May 24, 2012, from 5 until 7 at Garner-Harper Funeral Home with Rosary to follow at 7. A funeral Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada .
