Two Vicksburg men face charges of auto theft, grand larceny and burglary after Vicksburg police investigating a suspicious vehicle at an apartment building this morning found stolen furniture and accessories, Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said .
He said Richard Robinson, 53, 910 Bowman St., Apt. 303, and Larry Johnson, 48, 515 Bazinsky St., were being held without bond in the Issaquena County Jail pending an initial appearance today in city court.
He said the two were arrested after the manager of Carmel Manor Apartments, 910 Bowman St., called police about 3:10 a.m. about a U-Haul truck sitting in the apartment complex parking lot.
They are accused of stealing the truck from Tri-State Tires, 2209 Washington St., and 16 pieces of furniture and accessories from Hotel Furniture Warehouse, a storage facility at 2133 Washington.
When the officers checked the truck, they found furniture wrapped in plastic sitting by the truck. When the manager said no one was moving in or out, the officers searched the apartment complex for the people driving the truck.
When they arrived at Robinson’s apartment, they found other pieces of furniture and lamps, all wrapped in plastic in the apartment.
