George C. Hennington Jr.

Mr. George C. Hennington Jr., age 64, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Mississippi and lived in the Vicksburg area all his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. He worked for Matthews Auto Parts for more than 30 years. He was president of Little Bogue Hunting Club and a member of the Legion of the Moose Lodge No. 1581.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. Hennington Sr. and Lucille Hennington.

He is survived by his wife, Dinah Hennington of Vicksburg; his daughter, Robin Ellis of Lorman; his son, George Hennington III of Newton; his sister, Joyce Jiminez of Raymond; his brothers, Kenneth Hennington of Utica and Thomas Hennington of Metairie, La; his grandchildren, Leighton Greer and Hope Hennington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall McCool officiating. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon Friday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Marty Crevitt, Tim Stennett, Dave Cook, Leighton Greer, Jamie Greer and William Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Matthews, Bruce Goodwin and members of the Little Bogue Hunting Club.
