A 12th Warren County resident was arrested Tuesday on drug charges as part of a yearlong investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
Sean Calvary, 31, 230 Clark Road, was picked up in Washington County on a warrant Tuesday and booked into the Warren County Jail at 2:15 p.m., jail records show. The other 11 were arrested June 13 on numerous charges related to fraudulent acquisition and distribution of prescription medications.
Calvary was charged with three counts of obtaining controlled substances by fraud. No bond was set. An initial hearing was expected today.
The specific drug with which Calvary’s charges are associated was not available. Others arrested face charges associated with oxycodone and hydrocodone, both classified by the federal government as Schedule II or III controlled medications. Another was charged with selling Xanax, a Schedule IV substance.
Illegal diversion, use and sale of prescription drugs is a faster-growing issue for law enforcement than methamphetamine and cocaine, Sheriff Martin Pace said after the first batch of arrests.
