NRoute’s latest round of budget woes is something of an image problem, but more public money is the best stopgap for now, its executive director said Monday.
To that end, system officials asked the county for $25,000.
“We’re going toward ‘community transportation’ because transportation is for everybody. It’s not just for the elderly or the disabled. And we’re trying to get that stigma off of it,” Evelyn Bumpers told the Warren County Board of Supervisors in a plea for more support from the county to make up for corporate sponsorships lost since the minibus system began in 2006.
