Stacy, Carnahan to exchange vows Dec. 22

The engagement of Kelsey Michelle Stacy of Vicksburg to Jonathan Michael Carnahan of Port Neches, Texas, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. Dec. 22, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center.

Miss Stacy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Joseph Hilbun and Samuel T. Stacy, all of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Enoch Paul Stacy and the late Annie Laura Stacy and the late Reba McGaughy, all of Boone-

ville; Betty J. McGaughy and the late Bill McGaughy of Corinth; and Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas Hilbun Sr. of Vicksburg.

Mr. Carnahan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Montgomery Carnahan III of Port Neches. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Montgomery Carnahan Jr. of Port Neches and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan Giusti of New Orleans.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader and homecoming queen and a member of the Hall of Fame, Total Sound, yearbook staff and Robotics team.

She graduated this year from Delta State University, where she was crowned 2011 Homecoming Queen and was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Omega, Student Government Association, Union Program Council, Kappa Delta Pi honor society and the Wesley Foundation. She served as president of Kappa Delta sorority and was a cheerleader and DSU Diamond Girl.

Miss Stacy is a second-grade teacher with the Hinds County School District.

The prospective groom is a 2008 graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, where he played baseball and was named 20-4A All District Catcher and selected as a member of the USA International Baseball Team. He was a member of the Key Club and Indian Athletes.

He graduated this year from Delta State University, where he was starting catcher for the baseball team and was named All American and recipient of the Rawling Golden Glove Award. He was named to the All South Region and All Gulf South Conference All-Star Teams and was named 2012 Gulf South Conference Tournament MVP. He was recipient of the Statesman Award and was named to the Dean’s and President’s lists.

Mr. Carnahan is a professional baseball player with the Houston Astros organization.
