SALEM — Stevie Quinn rushed for 200 yards and two scores to pace Salem to a 41-14 rout of St. Aloysius Friday in the Region 4-1A opener for both teams.
The Flashes had four turnovers and, for a third straight game, gave up more than 350 rushing yards. Salem ran for 396.
“It was a lack of run stop defense,” St. Al coach B.J. Smithhart said. “They just ate the clock up on us and we had to play catch-up the entire night. They just wanted it more than us. Turnovers hurt us, but most of those came when we had to take some chances.”
