A Vicksburg man accused of rape was in jail this morning.

Chester Jenkins, 43, 102 Moonmist Drive, was arrested at 6:03 p.m. Saturday and charged with rape after a report that he assaulted a woman at his home, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

The woman was taken to River Region Medical Center where she was treated and released, Stewart said.

Jenkins was being held this morning in Issaquena County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.
