W. Martin Pace

W. Martin Pace died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 74.

Mr. Pace was a native of Bailey and moved to Vicksburg in 1979. He was a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant. After retirement he worked for Merchants National Bank and Baker Security Co. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Mason.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Damon Pace; parents, Bennie and Mary Pace; a brother, Bennie L. Pace; and a sister, Bobbie Carol Wallace.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Pace; two sons, Preston Pace of Vicksburg and Marion Blane Pace of Meridian; a daughter, Thracie L. Pace of Birmingham; two brothers, Wallace Glendon Pace of Newton and Roy Brown; two sisters, Ouida Alsup of Jackson and Wynell Patrick of Memphis; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be George Stevens, Mike Stevens, Mark Stevens, Jim Cook, Marty Collins and Bill Collins.
