• Oct. 25, 26, 27 beginning at 8 p.m. and Oct. 31 at midnight — “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”; $12; participants are encouraged to wear costumes and $100 prize will be awarded for best-dressed; no one under 17 allowed.

Angela Fordice Jordan book signing

Lorelei Books, 1103 Washington St., has scheduled a book-signing at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Former resident, Angela Fordice Jordan will be signing her book, “We End in Joy: Memoirs of a First Daughter,” about her parents Gov. Kirk and Pat Fordice. Vicksburg’s Got the Blues

The Heritage Music Series, sponsored by Ameristar Casino and the Vicksburg Blues Society, will feature blues artists from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursdays at the casino, 4116 Washington St., during the months of September and October. Hobbs Freeman Tablescapes exhibit

The Vicksburg Art Association, 1204 Main St., has scheduled a Tablescapes Exhibit from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 23, and it will be on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Sept. 26. Gardening series

The Mississippi State University Warren County Extension Office has planned a first Tuesday free gardening series at noon Oct. 2 and Nov. 6 at the extension office, 1100 C Grove St.

Downtown Fall Festival

The 18th annual Vicksburg Main Street event will begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 at Riverstage Plaza, 1300 Washington St., with a free concert. Festivities will resume at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 and include sidewalk sales, children’s activities, exhibitions and music. Bricks and Spokes

The Vicksburg Main Street Program will host the third annual bicycle ride beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 6. The ride will feature 10-mile, 30-mile, and 50-mile routes with stops for drinks and snacks.

Old Court House Flea Market

The 29th annual event at the Old Court House Museum, 1008 Cherry St., will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 6. Admission is free.

Salvation Army Soup and Sandwich

The 33rd annual Salvation Army Soup and Sandwich Luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at Crawford Street United Methodist Church’s Wesley Hall.

Shopping Extravaganza

The Outlets at Vicksburg will host its fifth annual Shopping Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 13. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased before the event that includes discounts, raffles, giveaways, live entertainment, a wine-tasting, spa treatments and a buffet style lunch. Over the River Run

The 24th annual 5-mile run and walk will kick off at 8 a.m. Oct. 13 at the old U.S. 80 bridge over the Mississippi River.

The event will also include a 1-mile fun run. Fees are $25 for individuals, $15 for children 10 and under, $55 for families of five and $75 for corporate or civic teams of three to five members. A $5 late fee will be charged after Oct. 1. Call 601-631-2997 or visit SCHF on Facebook.

Classics in the Courtyard

The fifth annual event at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center will kick off Oct. 19 and will run from noon to 1 p.m. for four Fridays.

Spooky Pooch

The Outlets at Vicksburg will host the Spooky Pooch contest Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.; dress-up-your-pet contest; categories include most creative, best owner/pet duo, spookiest and silliest; proceeds benefit Paws Rescue.

Haunted Vicksburg Ghost Tours

River Region Women’s Health Expo

Mississippi State Fair

The 153rd annual Mississippi State Fair will run Oct. 3-14 at the Mississippi Fairgrounds in Jackson.

The fair will feature agricultural shows, children’s activities, special attractions, contests, food, rides and more.

Musical acts this year will include Hinder, Don Felder Loretta Lynn, Chubby Checker and En Vogue.

Bike MS: Bike to the Battlefield

This ride from Clinton to Vicksburg Oct. 6-7 will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

St. Aloysius High School — Parade is Oct. 4 at 5 p.m., game against Resurrection Catholic is Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Veterans Day

Events will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 12 and kick off with a Freedom Run for all ages through historic downtown followed by the annual Veterans Day parade. Other events include lunch, a program by retired Col. Robert Crear, Uncle Sam’s Boot Camp for kids, a Military Through the Ages Display of period uniforms, equipment, vehicles and weapons, exhibits on display throughout the center featuring military and educational pieces and a patriotic concert finale by the Vicksburg area schools.
