Officials at the Vicksburg National Military Park are looking for volunteers to participate in sprucing up a section of the park from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday during the nationwide National Park Lands Day program.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Visitors Center parking lot, and lunch will be provided at noon.

“We’ll have a table set up in the parking lot so people can register, and then we’ll have a meeting to get everybody on the same page and explain the safety rules,” said Virgina DuBowy, national resources program manager for the park. “We’ve been doing this for the past five years.”
