Jay Hopson, Warren Central graduate and former defensive coordinator at the University of Memphis, was announced Friday as one of four finalists for the vacant Alcorn State University football head coaching position.

The other candidates, said public relations director Clara Ross Stamps, are Michael Armour, a former ASU assistant coach; Fred Farrier, a former head coach of Kentucky State University; and interim ASU head coach Todd McDaniel.

An announcement of the new coach is expected April 28 following Alcorn State’s spring football game, Stamps said.
