Ann Warren Penley

Ann Warren Penley died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 82.
Mrs. Penley was born in Rosedale and had lived in Vicksburg since 1944. She started work at the Merchants National Bank and Trust Co. in 1959 and she retired as the executive secretary to the president of the bank. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was active in many organizations including Pi Kappa Alpha Sorority, Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Storehouse Community Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels, and she was a member of the Paddlewheelers, where she enjoyed dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Buck” Penley Sr.; her parents, Morgan and Annie Warren; and a brother, Roger H. Warren.
Survivors include two sons, James L. “Buck” Penley Jr. and wife Betty of Vicksburg and Robert W. “Bob” Penley and wife Marsha of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Roye Ann “Sissy” Penley Carter of Vicksburg; two brothers, Morgan L. Warren Jr. of Yuba City, Calif., and Thomas G. “Jerry” Warren of Collins; a sister, Sara Mathews of L’Orange, La.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Walter Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
