HOSCHTON, Ga. — Charles Joseph Baylot, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nora Brooks Baylot, Hoschton; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Daniel Carter of Pearl River, La., Nora K. Rapetti of Hattiesburg, Jean Baylot of Hoschton and Carole and Tim Brand of Winder, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Rosalie Baylot of Gilroy, Calif., and Michael and Jeannine Baylot of Tucker, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Henry Gandy of Hazlehurst; brothers, John Baylot Jr. and Robert Baylot, both of Vicksburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Baylot was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Vicksburg. He was a 1945 graduate of St. Aloysius High School and a 1977 graduate of Imperial Valley Junior College in El Centro, Calif. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in Korea. He was retired from Parsons Engineering Science after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Monica in Duluth, Ga.
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at the Catholic Church of St. Monica with the Rev. Jack Durkin serving as celebrant and with a reception following the service at the church on Friday. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8:30.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Charles Joseph Baylot.
