Port Gibson man arrested in shooting, out on bail

A Port Gibson man accused of shooting another man in the face was released on bail during the weekend.

Trey Guster, 18, who lists his address as a post office box in Port Gibson, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, Sheriff Marvin Lucas said.

Guster is accused of using a small-caliber pistol to shoot a man, whom Lucas declined to identify, at 9 p.m. Wednesday at Five Star convenience store, 1076 U.S. 61 North. The victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries, Lucas said.

Guster was taken into custody about 30 minutes later, Lucas said. He posted $5,000 bail and was released Friday.

City man jailed

for felony DUI

A Vicksburg man accused of driving under the influence was held without bail today.

Kevin McClinton, 60, 202 Springridge Drive, was arrested at 1 a.m. Sunday and charged with DUI third offense, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

McClinton was arrested following a traffic stop at Grove and First North streets for careless driving, Stewart said.

McClinton was held without bail this morning at police headquarters awaiting his initial court appearance.
